Destani earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of California, Riverside. After graduating in 2020, she went on to contribute to important Autism, Epilepsy, and Spinal cord injury research studies, as well as the field of clinical Pathology examining and processing human tissues and assisting with disease diagnosis. Destani currently serves as a Junior Specialist in Dr. Jinhwan Kim and Dr. Erin Brown’s lab within the Research and Pediatric Division of the Department of Surgery where she has the pleasure of researching and developing methods to translate findings that could allow the use of novel stem cell advancements into pediatric cancer treatment. Outside of work, Destani enjoys art, logic based puzzles, a variety of self-care practices, and most importantly being active and traveling with her partner and two Doberman Pinschers.
