Bio
Born and raised in Guadalajara, Mexico, Ana was awarded a full scholarship to obtain her MS and Ph.D. from the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom. She crossed the pond for the second time and joined UC Davis in 2022 to continue her career development. She became a postdoctoral fellow under the California Institute of Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) training program from 2023-2025. Ana is passionate about using biomaterials to create novel therapeutics for enhanced wound healing and tissue regeneration, and as a valuable tool for cancer treatment.
Apart from research, she enjoys teaching and mentoring people from around the globe.
In her free time, Ana likes to read (fiction and non-fiction), bake, hike, pamper her cats, watch movies, and wander around in craft shops for her next artistic project.
