Bio
Dr. Brown is the Director of Pediatric Surgical Oncology and Director of Research for the Pediatric Surgery Division. Her research and clinical focus is pediatric surgical oncology, with a specific focus on neuroblastoma, a devastating childhood cancer with dismal survival rates and significant treatment side effects. She serves on the Children’s Oncology Group Neuroblastoma Committee and the National Comprehensive Cancer Network Neuroblastoma Panel as an expert in neuroblastoma care and treatment.  She completed a master’s in clinical research through the Mentored Clinical Research Training Program supported by CIRM and the NIH-supported Paul Calabresi K12 Career Development Program, and is currently a Hartwell Foundation Scholar for her work investigating targeted cellular delivery for neuroblastoma treatment.
Dr. Brown's research goals are to investigate cellular therapy approaches to develop novel treatment approaches for pediatric surgical diseases. She has published and received funding in translational oncology, developmental therapeutics, and the investigation of novel cancer staging approaches, and her lab focuses on combining the fields of nanoengineering and cancer therapeutics.
