Albatool (Toola) Alkhazal is the lab manager of the Kim/Brown lab, assisting with lab operations. She recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Neurobiology and Psychology from UC Davis. As an undergraduate, she worked as a Research Assistant in the Bales lab, where she investigated changes in cilia-related genes in targeted areas of the brain, with a particular focus on the nucleus accumbens, as a result of pair bonding in prairie voles (Microtus ochrogaster). In her current position, she hopes to utilize her experience to aid the ongoing research and the flow of experiments.

Outside of the lab, Toola enjoys cooking, reading, spooking people with her tarot cards, and playing poker with friends. She loves to connect with people, so please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
